Make your day worth every bit!

I have learned a lot in the past month, reflected, and grown so much. I just started nannying for a little boy who is four. He has blonde hair and brown eyes like me and a killer smile ha ha.

When I first started nannying for him, I figured it would just be routine, everyday the same, but as I started watching him, I realized I was learning every day. Since he is four, there is no down time to chat on the phone or read. He has shown me how much energy I really possess inside (he runs around a lot!). He has taught me to be brave by asking me to do crazy things on the playground and believing that I can do it, even when I don't believe in myself. He has opened up my social world, by making friends with every kid on the playground, so of course I talk with their nannies or parents. He has shown me to enjoy things and eat slow. He takes half an hour to eat an ice cream cone. He has taught me to channel my creativity and imagination. We have played Candy land about 50 times by now, and are best friends with the characters in the land. He has taught me how much you can learn from being still and observing. I watch him just stare at people or situations for a long time sometimes and look in awe at how patient and reflective he can be. He has shown me to look at nature and animals (A shiny rock is so special and a squirrel).

Even the nannies I have met have inspired me. One nanny is from Ecuador. I told her I used to study Spanish and now she makes it a point to teach me and practice with me. I also met a lady from Serbia who was a film director there and is nannying here. It was great to learn about her culture.

Every day is an adventure with this little boy. So I say, don't be stagnant with anything, don't settle for mediocre. Create the life you want and bite into it! Find ways to constantly learn. I always read on the subway now or walk a new direction. There are endless possibilities when you open your mind, heart, and soul.
